Situated in the city of Delray Beach, the Center provides a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care to clients and their families in surrounding communities.
Licensed Clinical Therapist will provide a variety of professional individual or group therapy to adults assigned to Mental Health Court experiencing severe and persistent mental illness in the least restrictive environment possible.
MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES
· Counsel individuals or groups regarding psychological or emotional problems, like stress, Substance abuse or forensic involvement
· Interview patient to obtain information concerning medical history or other pending information.
· Observes client to detect indications of abnormal physical or mental behavior.
· Assess client needs via Biopsychosocial assessment.
· Develop comprehensive treatment plan with client based on severity levels identified on biopsychosocial and client goals for change.
· Provide therapy as needed to implement positive changes identified on the treatment plan.
· Re-assess client progress and needs through use of treatment plan reviews every six months and biopsychosocial reassessments annually.
· Accurately track and monitor client insurance information.
· Monitor program expectations with regards to client attendance.
ADMINISTRATIVE STANDARDS
· Complete the required documentation for agency and/or funding sources within established timelines.
· Maintain clinical record files in a complete and current fashion
OTHER MINOR OR OCCASIONAL TASKS
· Maintain up to date knowledge of evidenced based practices.
· Maintain up to date knowledge of existing community resources and link clients as appropriate.
· Provide referrals to other services and resources as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
· Complete progress notes utilizing established guidelines
· General knowledge and proficiency in using PC and related software
· Knowledge of stages of adulthood and geriatrics.
WRITTEN & VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS
· Express ideas in clear, concise manner
· Provide summaries and recommendations
· Proficient in completing required forms and reports
AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
BUSINESS/SUPERVISORY
· Demonstrate the ability to interpret and abide by confidentiality laws, abuse reporting guidelines, client rights requirements, and abide by a code of ethical and practice standards of the profession.
MEDICAL/MENTAL HEALTH
· Counseling children and adults with serious emotional disturbances
· Understand and apply various diagnosis, treatment and their implications.
· Proficiency in completing required forms and documentation.
FUNCTIONAL, SPECIALIZED & TECHNICAL
· Must know Baker Act / March man Act, Abuse regulations, ethics of medical profession.
· Counseling / psychiatric interventions.
· client care protocol for adults/geriatrics
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· MA/MS degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Counseling
· One (1) year counseling experience with children, adolescents or adults with emotional disturbances
· Licensed Independent Practitioner (i.e. LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.) (Preferred)
· Three (3) years
