PURPOSE
South County Mental Health Center is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to ensure the safe, timely, and effective delivery of prescribed medications to our clients. This role plays a critical part in supporting clinical care through medication management, education, and collaboration with medical and clinical staff.

PURPOSE
South County Mental Health Center is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to ensure the safe, timely, and effective delivery of prescribed medications to our clients. This role plays a critical part in supporting clinical care through medication management, education, and collaboration with medical and clinical staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret, dispense, and verify prescriptions from licensed physicians and ARNPs in a timely and accurate manner
- Educate clients and families on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and therapeutic outcomes
- Coordinate pharmacy operations with internal and external providers
- Order pharmaceutical supplies and maintain an up-to-date formulary
- Monitor and manage controlled substances in compliance with all federal and state regulations
- Provide medication education to prescribers and clinical staff, including updates on trends, recalls, and contraindications
- Consult with inpatient and residential programs regarding medication availability and procedures
- Conduct medication use studies and participate in performance improvement initiatives
- Chair the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee
- Supervise pharmacy clerical staff and ensure client-friendly service delivery
- Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- Active Florida Pharmacist License
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy experience
- Experience in retail and/or hospital pharmacy
- Extensive knowledge of psychopharmacology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret handwritten and electronic prescriber orders
- Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, or integrated healthcare settings
- Familiarity with medication management across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Experience in retail & hospital pharmacy
- Extensive knowledge of psycho-pharmaceutic drugs
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to interpret prescriber written orders
- Basic computer and documentation skills
